Welcome to the Indian Society of Peripheral Nerve Surgery.
Founded in December 2011, as a non-political, non-sectarian and non-profit making association of hand surgeons, neurosurgeons, orthopaedic surgeons, plastic surgeons and all those involved in the care of an injured hand, in order to share knowledge and information with the aim to improve the research and treatment of peripheral nerve injuries.
Dear Members,The Indian Society of Peripheral nerve Surgery (ISPNS) was founded in December 2011, as a non-political, non-sectarian and non-profit making association of hand surgeons, neurosurgeons, orthopedic surgeons, plastic surgeons and all those involved in the care of an injured hand. The aim of the society is to share knowledge, information and improve the research and treatment of brachial plexus and peripheral nerve injuries.
The founding members conceived, formulated and conceptualized a plan to evolve a dedicated surgical forum, which can represent the surgeons of the country, involved in the care of the hand. This society is emerging as a sole forum of academic hand surgeons and peripheral nerve surgeons of country by your support, seeing the growth of life members in ISPNS in a short span of time. Currently we have more than 200 members in our society. The founder committee of ISPNS has resolved to start a scientific journal of the society with the name of Journal of Peripheral nerve surgery (JPNS). We aim to publish single issue per year to begin with and gradually increase the frequency of issues & circulation according to the need and demand, in days to come. The web site of our society is our effort to put us together and share the possible information by few clicks. I hope that all of you will not only benefit but also contribute to make ISPNS a force to reckon with time to come.
Dear Colleagues,The Indian Society of Peripheral Nerve Surgery (ISPNS) is in its fourth year running and in this short time span; it has grown leaps and bounds and presently is the largest society of its own kind in the country, with more than 200 members. The society was established with the aim of propagating knowledge and research in the field of brachial plexus and peripheral nerve surgery.
The Indian Society of peripheral nerve surgery is committed to accelerate research that will provide answers for clinicians and ultimately improve the treatments available to patients. The ISPNS will continue to promote excellence in the field by providing opportunities for scientists, establishing standards in both basic and clinical research, encouraging and supporting research, and promoting liaisons with other organisations that influence the care and cure of patients with peripheral nerve problems.
The field of brachial plexus and peripheral nerve surgery is an exciting domain and I urge young surgeons to take up this speciality. The recent technological advancements have significantly improved the results of microsurgery of these lesions and the main goal of ISPNS is to impart education skills about the management of these lesions to the young surgeons.
